Gunman kills more than 10 children in school in Rio de Janeiro

At least 10 children die in attack on school in Rio de Janeiro.

The attack happened in the school hall Tasso da Silveira in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro.

A former student shot some children still in the streets and stormed the school where he studied at the Royal one in Rio de Janeiro, killing at least 10 students on April 7, 2011, shortly after 08am.

Shooter Wellington de Oliveira Menezes was 23 and committed suicide after killing more than 10 children and left nearly 20 injured were transferred to various hospitals in the capital of Rio. Some newspapers however, say it was the police who killed the murderer of Rio de Janeiro.

The tragedy reminds ordinary events in the United States in which students or former students invade schools and kill as many people as possible.
